EE Accessibility Support

ARIA Support

The W3C’s Web Accessibility Initiative – Accessible Rich Internet Applications (ARIA) is a recommended technical specification that specifies how to increase accessibility of web pages. In particular it specifies the characteristics of behavior of dynamic content and user interface components developed using Ajax, HTML, JavaScript and other related technologies.

ICEsoft’s ACE components provide support for this specification. Applications developed using ICEfaces can now provide support for screen reader technologies and other accessibility evaluation tools. Semantics and other metadata information have been added to relevant components in order to make user interface controls and related dynamic content more accessible.

For more details on the ARIA specification and for general best practices information on developing accessible applications please see: https://www.w3.org/TR/wai-aria/

More information on all the ICEfaces components is available on the ICEfaces wiki.
